JOB DESCRIPTION

The focus of this job is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organization and its strategic goals. Initiate and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is the key to achieving the performance objectives of this job. Because environmental conditions change rapidly, the work involves innovation and creativity in generating ideas for a quick response. Decision-making is focused on implementing practical, timely solutions. The job requires getting things done quickly and handling a variety of activities. Self-Assurance, and the confidence to purposely drive toward treatment outcomes while constantly problem-solving is essential. An intervention style that is firm and goal oriented, and yet motivates, and engages others in an enthusiastic way is important. The emphasis on building rapport and relationships with individuals and groups requires an outgoing, poised, and persuasive communication style. Because the pace of the work is faster than average, the ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while continually recognizing and adapting to changing conditions is critical. While the job requires the ability to act independently, a sense of urgency and the confidence to handle a variety of challenges, a full commitment to the success of the treatment outcomes are expected in this position. The job environment is flexible and constantly changing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Support Director of Outpatient Services to provide oversight of Day Treatment staff

· Provide ongoing training, supervision and accountability to Day Treatment staff regarding the following (but not limited to):

o Clinical

  • Services and intervention
  • Documentation
  • Referrals, coordination and discharge
  • Behavior Management

o Administrative

  • Documentation (incident reporting, mandated reporting)
  • Policies, procedure, and SOP adherence
  • Supervision of Interns if needed
  • Facilitate skill building groups
  • Provide outreach, assessment, and coordinated service planning
  • Identify resources within the agency and surrounding communities

o Implement and coordinate service linkage

o Prioritize needs within your caseload (scheduling appointments, closing, transferring, referring, discharges, etc.)

o Meet productivity requirements (client service hours, documentation

  • Maintain licensure and further develop competencies and clinical skills

o Attend scheduled supervision meetings

o Respond to Supervisor directives and present cases for discussion

o Utilize supervision when crisis or issues arise

o Comply with rules of supervision

  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner

o In appearance and demeanor

o Promoting agency mission and values

o Consistently utilizing trauma-informed practices and approaches

o Express self in an articulate, organized, and grammatically correct fashion in both oral and written communications

  • This is not an exhaustive list and duties may be changed or required based on Chief Executive Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in mental health, human services, early intervention, or early childhood education, license preferred

· Knowledge and experience with child development

· Some knowledge on ACES and the impact of trauma and chronic stress on families

· Experience with at-risk, low-income populations

· Knowledge and experience with groups and education

Work Environment

· Must be able to work evenings

· Must be able to adapt to fast changing environments

· Must be able to be trained in Physical Restraint Holds, ability to provide a safe environment for self and children in crisis/behavior

Other Requirements

· A satisfactory criminal records check (BCI and FBI check)

· Valid Driver’s license and transportation with insurance

· Ability to utilize computer programs such as:

o Word, excel, powerpoint, etc
