Job Summary:
The Residential Director will oversee the daily operations of group homes at ChildFirst Services Inc. ChildFirst Services Inc provides support and assistance for youth with disabilities and behavioral issues, ages 14 - 21 years old ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for individuals with varying needs. This position will manage program schedules, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and ensure the well-being and personal development of residents. The Residential Director will work closely with families, external agencies, and the leadership team to meet the individual goals of residents and ensure high-quality care.
SCHEDULE: Available as needed, including evenings and weekends.
PAYRATE: $85,000 per year
LOCATION: Berks
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise, provide guidance, train, and perform evaluations.
- Ensure all DSPs adhere to safety protocols, service standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss best practices, resolve concerns, and maintain team morale.
- Develop and implement individual care plans for residents in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents are met according to their care plans.
- Oversee daily activities and ensure the health, safety, and comfort of residents.
- Support residents with their personal goals, including daily living skills, vocational tasks, and community engagement.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including safety, health, and care standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each resident, including progress reports, incident reports, and medical documentation.
- Coordinate with external agencies for regular inspections and audits.
- Develop and implement program activities that promote residents’ independence, social skills, and overall well-being.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge of best practices in care.
- Respond to emergencies or crises as needed, ensuring proper protocols are followed.
- Train staff to handle difficult situations and de-escalation techniques.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families, ensuring clear communication and involvement in the care of their loved ones.
- Promote positive community involvement and interactions for residents.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Public Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of prior supervisory experience in a group home setting
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or other special needs.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle complex situations.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in group home care.
- Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
