Job Summary:
The Life Skills Instructor supports youth in developing the essential skills needed for independent living and personal growth. This position provides hands-on instruction, guidance, and mentorship in areas such as daily living, communication, problem-solving, financial literacy, and community engagement.
MUST Travel to Lehigh County, Carbon County, and Lake Ariel
LOCATIONS and SCHEDULE
Mon: 8 am - 4 pm - Lehigh Valley
Tuesday: 11 am - 7 pm - Lehigh Valley
Wednesday: 11 am - 7 pm - Carbon County
Thursday: 11 am - 7 pm - Lehigh Valley
Friday: 11 am - 7 pm - Wayne County
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and model daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, budgeting, and time management.
- Develop and implement individualized life skills plans tailored to each youth’s needs and goals.
- Lead group sessions and workshops focused on social skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation.
- Support youth in setting personal goals and track progress through documentation and reports.
- Supervise and engage youth during recreational, educational, and community activities.
- Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and residential staff to ensure a consistent approach to care.
- Maintain a positive, structured, and safe environment that promotes responsibility and respect.
- Assist in crisis intervention and behavioral redirection when necessary.
- Ensure all activities comply with agency policies, licensing standards, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Education required. Bachelor's preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth in a residential or community-based setting.
- Strong communication, teaching, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in challenging situations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must pass background checks
