Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field and ten years of related experience with stormwater infrastructure operations and maintenance to include supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable experience in the construction and installation of storm water infrastructure and facilities. Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP) basic and inspector training/certifications preferred. Considerable knowledge and ability to interpret construction plans and VSMP design specifications. Planning and coordinating work crews to meet annual maintenance, customer complaints, structural failures, and facility long term Capital Improvement Plan requirements. Knowledge of safety rules and regulations that apply to field work. Knowledge of computers and related programs (Microsoft 365, database management, etc.) must be able to work independently, analyze technical information, interpret field conditions and formulate corrective action plans.
Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.

This position is a federally regulated DOT position and is subject to random drug testing and alcohol testing. The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited.Duties
Plan, supervise, and manage the operation, maintenance and protection of all facilities related to stormwater infrastructure, including 500 miles of stormwater pipe and ditches and over 800 stormwater treatment facilities that must be maintained annually. In addition, manage the production and installation of residential street signs in accordance with state code standards and specifications. Comply with the state issued Municipal Separate Stormwater Permit for inspection, maintenance, and repair requirements. Ensure integrity of the stormwater infrastructure system to prevent flooding and avoid associated damage and the health and safety impacts flooding can have in the community. Perform other work as required.
