Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant. This role plays a key part in supporting our Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including billing, payment posting, collections, and month-end close. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for revenue recognition and ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process customer billing in a timely and accurate manner.
- Record and apply customer payments; maintain up‑to‑date AR subledgers.
- Manage collections activities, including communication with customers and internal teams.
- Support month-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.
- Perform revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and organizational policies.
- Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve billing and revenue-related issues.
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of accounting experience required, with hands-on AR responsibilities.
- Revenue recognition experience required.
- Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred.
- Non-profit accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
