OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The Financial Operations Coordinator is responsible for all billing and payment operations for the program. This position ensures all billing and payment policies and procedures are followed and maintains accurate reports and records. This position also ensures compliance with federal regulations and Cherokee Nation fiscal requirements.
Job Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compiles and provides accurate financial data for monthly budget reports; maintain detailed expenditure tracking through spreadsheets and other reporting tools.
- Serves as point of contact for parents and providers facilitating communication and resolving payment and billing related issues.
- Maintains and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance and budget alignment.
- Enters billing and payment information into the data system.
- Accepts and processes billing and payments from internal and external sources.
- Verifies and posts details of business transactions.
- Maintains filing and scanning of documents.
- Assists parents and providers with billing and payment inquiries and provides notifications as needed.
- Reconciles billings and payments.
- Initiates and documents corrective actions as needed.
- Performs other duties, tasks, and services with this position as assigned.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
- This position does not directly supervise any individuals.
- Directly supports the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations, vendor relations, and compliance efforts, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the center.
- Works independently on routine tasks; collaborates with managers and other department for specialized or cross-functional activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree.
- Two (2) years of related experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

- The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
- Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
