What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Associate position at Chase Technical?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to join our team in Schaumburg, IL. This role is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end processes. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and process vendor invoices, expense reports, and AMEX statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
* Prepare and issue vendor payments via check and wire transfers in a timely manner
* Perform weekly bank reconciliations and collaborate with Accounts Receivable to resolve discrepancies
* Communicate with vendors regarding open balances and payment inquiries
* Assist with monthly close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and inventory adjustments
* Maintain fixed asset schedules and other balance sheet reconciliations
* Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports
* Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, including cash and accounts payable
* Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
* Assist with tax compliance and internal audit (J-SOX) requirements
* Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
* Participate in process improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
* 1–3 years of accounting experience (AP/AR or general accounting)
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
