Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive electrical expertise, including industrial and commercial electrical experience, and be proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and working with various electrical systems. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on construction sites, renovation projects, and industrial facilities. The successful candidate will ensure all work complies with NEC standards and safety regulations, utilizing a range of hand tools and power tools to deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute projects accurately
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage circuits as required
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system functionality
- Follow NEC codes and safety standards to ensure safe work practices on construction sites and renovation projects
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within scope
- Assist with renovation projects by performing framing carpentry or maintenance person tasks when necessary
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license or certification
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting electrical circuits
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low/high voltage systems
- Familiarity with NEC standards and safety protocols for construction sites and industrial environments
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; ohmmeters; and other testing devices
- Construction site experience with a focus on renovation projects is preferred
- Ability to read technical schematics and perform installation or repairs accordingly
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
