Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and property maintenance. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of HVAC equipment and systems across commercial and residential properties. The technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal operation of heating and cooling systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and ammonia refrigeration systems. A valid driver's license is required for travel between job sites. This position offers opportunities for growth in HVAC/R, equipment repair, welding, and complex system troubleshooting.
Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments
- Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, valves, and electrical wiring
- Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems when necessary
- Assist with ammonia refrigeration system maintenance and repairs in compliance with safety standards
- Use welding techniques for equipment repair or modification as needed
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of work performed
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician in construction or property maintenance environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC/R systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and boiler operation
- Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans accurately
- Familiarity with equipment repair tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment
- Knowledge of field service procedures including appliance repair and preventative maintenance
- Experience with air conditioning systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and system diagnostics
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various field service settings
- Valid driver's license required for travel between job sites
- Additional skills such as welding, boiler maintenance, or mechanic experience are preferred but not mandatory
