CUSR Bus Driver
Champaign Park District – Seasonal, Non-Exempt (not to exceed 6 months)
About the Job:
The Champaign Park District is seeking dependable and safety-focused individuals to join our team as CUSR Bus Drivers. In this role, you will provide safe and reliable transportation for participants attending recreational programs and community activities throughout the area. This position plays an important role in helping participants access meaningful experiences while ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being during transportation.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Safely transport CUSR participants and staff to program locations throughout the community
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle safety inspections before operating the bus
- Follow all Illinois Department of Transportation traffic laws and Park District safety procedures
- Maintain participant safety, supervision, and appropriate behavior while driving
- Communicate schedule updates, concerns, or incidents to the supervisor promptly
- Represent the Champaign Park District in a professional and positive manner
- Respond appropriately and calmly in emergency situations
- Assist program staff and participants as needed during transportation activities
- Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to transportation schedules

Qualifications:- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Possess the ability to maintain participant discipline and ensure that participant behavior is not a distraction to safe driving
- Ability to work independently and maintain a tight schedule.
- Follow the daily schedule in a timely manner
- Possess a valid Illinois drivers license
- Complete and pass a Park District driving test
Salary : $17 - $20
