About the Role
As the Request for Proposal Specialist (RFP) you will project manage the full lifecycle of RFPs, RFIs and RFQs, from opportunity identification and proposal planning to submission and post submission follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, operations, security, etc.) to gather input, ensure alignment, and meet deadlines.
- Monitor RFP compliance & Quality Control to ensure all proposals meet regulatory, legal, and organizational standards, including formatting, content accuracy, and submission protocols.
- Draft, edit, and refine proposal content, including executive summaries, technical responses, and pricing narratives.
- Develop and maintain templates, checklists, and best practices to streamline the RFP process and improve win rates.
- Monitor government procurement portals and industry trends to identify upcoming opportunities and inform proposal strategy and gather overall market intelligence.
- Track RFP outcomes, maintain a proposal database, and provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline and performance metrics.
- Travel domestically up to 15%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience managing RFPs or government procurement processes.
Required Skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Commitment to equity, transparency, and public service values.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal management tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in or with government agencies.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local procurement processes.
Pay range and compensation package
The expected total salary range is $75,000 to $95,000 annually, which includes a base salary, & company bonus. This is a good faith estimate, and final compensation may vary based on experience and skills.
