The Tufting Lead assists the Tufting Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Tufting Department. The Tufting Lead completes clerical work and communicates information with production orders.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
The employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Job Description: Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains a daily schedule of machines. Ensures jobs are prepared and ready for production in coordination with the Tufting Planner and Tufting Manager
- Posts transactions in NAV
- Issues material needs to Material Handler 1 & Material Handler 2
- Assists in all tufting positions where needed
- Assists Tufting Manager in completion of administrative tasks
- Coordinate production activities with Quality Control Team
- Maintain primary backing inventory
- Issue orders for supplies and specific materials as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Education or experience level - 2 years of tufting experience
- Exhibits mastery-level performance of the Tufting Operator 2 position
- Basic mathematics skills are required.
- Ability to analyze and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations
- Ability to interact with others (co-workers, supervisors, vendors, and the general public) professionally
- Ability to effectively lead a team effort to obtain short-term and long-term goals
