The Youth Worker provides care, support, and supervision to children in a therapeutic setting. Responsibilities include building positive relationships, ensuring safety, documenting activities, and using Chaddock’s behavior management model. The role requires flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to manage challenging behaviors. Evening and weekend shifts are required.
Key Responsibilities – Youth Worker
- Provide individual and group counseling to assigned clients.
- Develop and maintain positive, caring, and safe relationships with clients and their families.
- Monitor, document, and report all client activities and behaviors according to agency and licensing standards.
- Use Chaddock’s behavior management model and therapeutic interventions effectively.
- Intervene safely and appropriately in crisis or unsafe client behaviors.
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients, families, and external contacts.
- Attend team meetings, clinical supervisions, and therapy sessions as required.
- Administer and document medication in compliance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure client safety and treatment progress.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the assigned cottage.
- Adhere to agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards.
- Participate in trainings and maintain certifications related to job duties.
- Follow all safety protocols including restraint techniques when necessary.
