Water Systems Lead – Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility
We are seeking an experienced Water Systems Lead to oversee the design, operation, and optimization of critical water infrastructure supporting a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable delivery of ultra-pure water (UPW), wastewater treatment, and sustainable water management systems in a highly regulated, precision-driven environment.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership capability, and a track record of maintaining high-availability utility systems in industrial or advanced manufacturing settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operation and maintenance of plant water systems, including ultra-pure water (UPW), wastewater treatment, and reclaim systems
- Ensure continuous, reliable supply of high-quality water to support semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Oversee system performance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to minimize downtime and process disruptions
- Manage and mentor a team of technicians, operators, and/or engineers
- Collaborate with facilities, process engineering, and EHS teams to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, sustainability, and water reuse
- Support system upgrades, expansions, and capital projects from design through commissioning
- Monitor KPIs and implement data-driven strategies to improve system reliability and performance
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal water and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience with industrial water systems (semiconductor, pharmaceuticals, or similar high-purity environments strongly preferred)
- Hands-on experience with ultra-pure water (UPW) systems and/or advanced wastewater treatment processes
- Proven leadership experience managing teams in a 24/7 operational environment
- Strong understanding of water chemistry, filtration, membrane systems, and treatment technologies
- Experience with SCADA/BMS systems and data monitoring tools
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor or microelectronics manufacturing
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and water reuse strategies
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (EPA, local environmental agencies, etc.)
