Location: Nottingham, MD

Salary Range: $75,000 – $80,000

About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is critical in supporting core accounting functions, including cash management, budgeting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and supporting workpapers.
• Reconcile and maintain accurate records of daily cash activity.
• Prepare weekly operational reports for management.
• Review and reconcile business credit card and employee reimbursement accounts.
• Support preparation of timely and accurate financial reporting packages, including monthly and annual statements.
• Manage fixed assets and reconcile monthly depreciation entries.
• Complete personal property tax filings.
• Assist with collections and vendor management.
• Contribute to process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial objectives with business strategies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and other accounting functions as needed.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a staff or senior accounting role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
