- The Opportunity: This is a hands on role supporting core accounting functions while gaining exposure to a dynamic, project driven business. The Staff Accountant will work closely with senior accounting and finance leadership and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting as the organization continues to grow.
- Support the monthly close process including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Assist with general ledger maintenance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Support project accounting activities including cost tracking, billing support, and coordination with operations teams.
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements, audits, and lender or sponsor reporting as needed.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support accounting system enhancements as the organization scales.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience: One to three plus years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, project based services, or a similar operating environment.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to work accurately with detailed data.
- ERP system experience preferred, particularly within job cost or project accounting environments.
