Position Overview
The Procurement Specialist will manage and support procurement activities in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is critical in ensuring transparent, competitive, and efficient purchasing processes aligned with government standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle, including solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, IFBs), evaluations, and contract awards
- Ensure compliance with government procurement regulations (federal, state, and/or local)
- Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and documentation
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define scope, specifications, and procurement strategies
- Conduct vendor outreach, bid analysis, and contract negotiations
- Maintain contract files and procurement records in accordance with audit requirements
- Monitor contract performance and vendor compliance
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
- 3 years of procurement experience in a government or public-sector environment (required)
- Strong knowledge of public procurement regulations and competitive bidding processes
- Experience drafting and managing contracts and solicitations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required); experience with procurement systems a plus
