Own the Payroll Process
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state employee base
- Ensure payroll is accurate, timely, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations
- Review and audit payroll data including wages, deductions, bonuses, and commissions
- Maintain and update employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, changes)
- Process garnishments, levies, and other withholdings
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate payroll reports
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies
- Assist with payroll tax filings, W-2s, and year-end processing
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- 2–5 years of payroll experience, ideally in a multi-state environment
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, or similar
- High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Strong communication skills—someone employees trust to get it right
