Payroll Specialist – Tech & Manufacturing Sector
Location: Tigard, Oregon
About the Role
Our client, an innovative and globally recognized company within the technology and manufacturing space, is looking to add a Payroll Specialist to their team. This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. In this role, you’ll support payroll operations for a large U.S.-based workforce, ensuring smooth and timely processing while partnering closely with HR and finance. The position offers a flexible hybrid schedule with primarily remote work and occasional in-office collaboration.
Key Responsibilities: Payroll Specialist
- Process high-volume, biweekly payroll for approximately 1,600 U.S. employees using ADP Workforce Now
- Audit and reconcile payroll data, including timesheets, earnings, and benefit deductions
- Review and validate employee data changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation updates
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and retroactive pay
- Manage multi-state payroll compliance, including tax withholdings and jurisdictional requirements
- Process and maintain payroll-related deductions such as benefits, 401(k), and wage garnishments
- Assist with payroll journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes
Preferred Qualifications: Payroll Specialist
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, or similar platforms
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with payroll reports and data
- High level of accuracy, organization, and ability to meet tight deadlines
