Payroll Manager – Responsibilities
- Manage the full payroll cycle including weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly payroll processing
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Oversee payroll tax filings and ensure timely payments
- Manage payroll records, reporting, and reconciliation
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate with HR regarding employee data, benefits, and compensation updates
- Prepare payroll reports for leadership and finance teams
- Support audits and maintain payroll documentation and compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies
- 5 years of payroll experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience managing full-cycle payroll for multi-employee organizations
- Proficiency in payroll systems and HRIS platforms
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, UKG, or Workday
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification
- Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, or multi-location organizations
