Senior Accountant – Affordable Housing Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting for multiple affordable housing development and rehabilitation projects
- Manage project-based accounting including job cost tracking and construction budgets
- Prepare and review construction draws, requisitions, and lender reporting packages
- Track and reconcile funding sources including LIHTC equity, soft debt, and public grants
- Lead monthly project closes and prepare detailed financial reporting
- Support year-end audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers
- Partner with development, property management, and joint venture stakeholders on financial performance
- Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulatory and reporting requirements
- BS in Accounting required
- 6 years of real estate or project-based accounting experience with direct exposure to affordable housing
- Strong understanding of LIHTC structures and affordable housing funding sources preferred
- Experience with construction draws, development accounting, and multi-entity reporting
- Proficiency in Excel required
- Experience with MRI, Yardi, or similar real estate accounting systems preferred
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
