Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Accountant
- Process biweekly payroll, including bonuses, commissions, and severance
- Own payroll setup and maintenance in ADP Workforce Now
- Audit employee pay, status changes, and pay codes for accuracy
- Manage multi-state payroll compliance, including tax registrations and leave programs
- Reconcile payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with all regulations
- Prepare payroll journal entries and maintain GL interfaces
- Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Audit time-off accruals and prepare reporting
- Oversee 401(k) and benefit file integrations, ensuring accurate data flow
- Prepare biweekly benefit uploads (401k, FSA, HSA, insurance)
- Reconcile benefit invoices and partner with HR to resolve discrepancies
- Support leave of absence programs, including state wage replacement programs
- Monitor payroll allocations and compensation schedules for accuracy and budget alignment
- 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience
- Strong experience with payroll reconciliations and accounting impact
- ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
- Multi-state payroll experience, including state tax registration knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills with experience in data analysis and reporting
