Our client, a growing, highly dynamic organization in the marketing and media industry, is seeking an experienced Controller to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building processes, improving controls, and partnering cross-functionally across the business.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, deep knowledge of GAAP, and experience overseeing the full accounting function in a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, and payroll oversight
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Lead and manage the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
• Develop and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic financial initiatives
• Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while helping scale the department alongside company growth
• Assist with system enhancements and process automation initiatives, particularly within NetSuite
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA strongly preferred
• 8 years of progressive accounting experience with significant Controller-level leadership experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience managing audits and working closely with external auditors
• NetSuite experience preferred
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-moving environment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
