Operating as a fully contributing member of the team, this role balances day-to-day general ledger operations with insightful funder analysis and cross-departmental financial guidance.

The organization is looking for a grounded, collaborative professional who carries themselves with a steady energy and shares a deep commitment to equity, justice, and community support. You will serve as an accessible, in-person resource for staff across the agency regarding purchasing, reimbursements, and financial processes, while managing contract invoicing, donor-restricted fund releases, and audit preparation in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Close Operations: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general invoicing, banking, cash reconciliations, and payroll journal entries for monthly and fiscal year-end close.
  • Financial Statement Drafts: Prepare first drafts of agency financial statements and supporting meeting agendas for review with the Director of Finance.
  • Contract & Funder Management: Generate contract invoices, prepare revenue accruals, track allowable versus unallowable expenses, and maintain forecast reports for funder activities.
  • General Ledger & Allocations: Create general ledger accounts, review transaction accuracy, analyze donor-restricted funds, and post journal entries for prepaids, depreciation, and expense allocations.
  • Audit & Compliance Support: Assist in completing annual audit schedules for external CPAs, government funders, and workers' compensation reviews, while overseeing 1099 vendor analyses.

  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheet applications, database management, and core office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate respectfully with diverse teams.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, access to an insured vehicle during work hours, and the ability to pass standard background and pre-employment checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of non-profit fund accounting principles.
  • Experience utilizing specialized accounting platforms such as Financial Edge.
  • Familiarity with automated payroll platforms like Paylocity.
