What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll / Benefits Specialist position at Certified Transmission?
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Certified Transmission is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll / Benefits Specialist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with numbers, data, and computer systems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in getting the details right.
You do not need extensive payroll experience—we are willing to train the right person. If you're a quick learner, highly organized, dependable, and willing to go the extra mile, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Process payroll and review employee timecards for accuracy
- Perform payroll calculations, including overtime, deductions, and paid time off balances
- Assist with benefits administration and employee questions
- Support workers' compensation and leave-of-absence processes
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with onboarding and other HR-related tasks as needed
- Audit and verify data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide excellent customer service to employees and managers

- Positive attitude and willingness to jump in where needed
- Previous payroll, HR, administrative, bookkeeping, accounting, or office experience is a plus, but not required
