What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Operator position at Century Roll Inc.?
Duties:
- Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend, form, and shape metal plates and sheets according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine job requirements
- Select appropriate tooling and ensure proper alignment for each job
- Perform basic math calculations to determine bend allowances and angles
- Monitor machine operation to ensure quality control standards are met
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machinery as needed
- Assist with materials handling, including loading and unloading metal sheets
- Collaborate with team members to assemble fabricated parts as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Proficient in operating press brake machinery and related tools
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
- Basic math skills for calculating bend allowances and angles
- Attention to detail for quality control purposes
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar computer-aided design software is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with tooling or machinery
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members
