What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Metal Processing position at Century Roll?
Overview:
Century Roll is hiring a First Shift Metal Processor to run our CNC plasma cutting table, CNC Tube & Pipe Processing Machine, and/or support other fabrication equipment. This is not a CNC machining role — we’re looking for candidates with plasma table or fabrication shop experience who are comfortable working independently and handling a mix of work.
What You’ll Do (First Shift):
- Operate and maintain our CNC plasma cutting table (Torchmate 6x10 with 150-amp system)
- Load material using cranes or forklifts
- Run pre-programmed cut files provided by our CAD team
- Inspect and de-burr parts after cutting
- Support operation of other shop equipment:
- Accurshear
- Hydraulic Press Brake
- Dragon Tube & Pipe Processing Machine
- Horizontal Band Saw
- Follow job travelers and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Communicate effectively with shift lead and follow daily work priorities
Requirements:
- Plasma table or fabrication experience in a job shop or steel shop
- Able to read blueprints and follow traveler instructions
- Comfortable operating or learning crane, forklift, and shop equipment
- Independent, reliable, and detail-focused
- Comfortable working second shift hours
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM– 3:30 PM
Pay: Based on experience
