Registered Nurse- Cardiothoracic ICU (Day Shift)

Location: Utica, NY, 13502

Duration: 13-week Contract

Shift: 12-hr Days

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Weekly Pay: $2,232 - $2,412; (Negotiable based on experience)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Cardiothoracic ICU Registered Nurse for a contract position in Utica, NY. The ideal candidate will have direct experience managing fresh open-heart surgery patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced intensive care setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver critical care nursing to post-operative cardiothoracic patients.
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Manage ventilators, chest tubes, central lines, and other critical care devices.
• Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as needed.
• Document patient care using EPIC EHR system.
• Collaborate with physicians, RTs, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding care and recovery.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent CTICU experience.
• Experience with fresh open-heart surgery patients is mandatory.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Certifications:
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
