Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the facility.
- Assist surgeons in the CVOR with complex open-heart procedures, including CABG, valve replacements, and other cardiac surgeries.
- Monitor patient condition intraoperatively and respond to critical situations with precision and urgency.
- Maintain and prepare surgical instruments and equipment specific to open-heart procedures.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical team members, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs.
- Ensure the CVOR environment remains sterile and compliant with all infection control protocols.
- Participate in continued education and maintain current knowledge in cardiac surgical procedures.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Open Heart (CVOR) RN experience in an acute care setting – Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida or ability to obtain prior to start – Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred
- Certifications Required:
- BLS – Basic Life Support (AHA)
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (AHA)
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA)
- CNOR – Certified Perioperative Nurse – Preferred
