Location: Hartford, CT (Only Local Candidates Preferred)

Job Type: Contract (C2C/W2)

Experience: 3 Years of Hands-on Digital Accessibility Testing Experience

Job Summary

We are hiring an experienced Digital Accessibility Tester / QA Analyst for a contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manual accessibility testing and ensuring digital products comply with WCAG 2.x, ADA, and Section 508 accessibility standards. You will work closely with QA, Development, and Business teams to identify accessibility issues and provide remediation recommendations across web, mobile, and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual accessibility testing for web, mobile, and enterprise applications.

  • Validate compliance with WCAG 2.x, ADA, and Section 508 standards.

  • Test websites, mobile apps, PDFs, Word documents, and PowerPoint files for accessibility.

  • Use assistive technologies to identify accessibility issues.

  • Document accessibility defects and provide remediation guidance.

  • Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.

  • Prepare accessibility compliance reports and support release testing.

Required Skills

  • 3 years of hands-on Digital Accessibility Testing experience.

  • Strong experience with manual accessibility testing.

  • Expertise in WCAG 2.x, ADA, and Section 508 compliance.

  • Experience with assistive technologies:

    • NVDA

    • JAWS

    • VoiceOver

    • TalkBack

    • Dragon

    • ZoomText

  • Knowledge of HTML, ARIA, Semantic HTML, and Responsive Web Design.

  • Experience with accessibility testing tools such as Axe, WAVE, ARC Toolkit, Deque, WebAIM, or SiteImprove.

  • Experience documenting accessibility defects and providing remediation guidance.

  • Experience working in Agile environments.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and jQuery.

  • Experience with Sitecore, Salesforce, Jira, and Confluence.

  • Accessibility testing for Word, PDF, and PowerPoint documents.

  • Experience testing chatbots and digital forms.

  • IAAP (CPACC/WAS), DHS Trusted Tester, Section 508, or Deque certifications are highly preferred.
