About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Utica, New York. The RN will provide high-acuity critical care in a Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) caring for patients with complex cardiovascular and postoperative surgical conditions.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive critical care to cardiovascular and cardiothoracic ICU patients.
Monitor and manage fresh postoperative open-heart surgery patients and recognize changes in clinical condition.
Care for patients with cardiovascular surgery needs, cardiogenic shock, AAA, and other high-acuity cardiac conditions.
Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and critical care interventions while continuously evaluating patient response.
Maintain accurate Epic documentation and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate complex patient care.
Requirements
Minimum 2 Years of Recent Cardiovascular ICU / Cardiothoracic ICU Nursing Experience Required, Including Fresh Open-Heart Patient Experience.
Current, Active Registered Nurse License Required; Applicable New York Practice Requirements Must Be Met Before Start.
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Certifications Required.
Epic EMR Experience Required.
Previous Travel Nursing Experience Required; Must Be Available for 12-Hour Night Shifts.
This contract opportunity is well suited for an experienced CVICU/CTICU RN with strong fresh-heart and cardiovascular critical care experience.
