Summary of Position
To type correspondence, reports, and perform routine clerical work involving great detail.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred.
Two years wage earning clerical experience or certification / successful completion of relevant trade school required.
Experience with admission process in an educational environment preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Ability
- Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Ability to Communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students
- Operate independently and multi-task on a daily basis
- Problem-solve with discernment;
- Evaluate sources of problems and ability to think through issues;
- Collaborate with other CTC departments and ISDs;
- Learn and adapt in a changing environment.
- Ability to learn dual credit procedures; Admissions and residency requirements and Texas Success Initiative.
- Must be able to learn Ellucian Colleague student application process
Essential Functions
- Maintaining accurate records and assist in the preparation of routine and special reports.
- Reproducing materials and ordering supplies.
- Filing and maintaining accurate files of correspondence, reports, time sheets, etc.
- Assisting in the maintenance and record-keeping of the departmental budget.
- Picking up and dropping off mail and hand-carrying documents as needed.
- Typing personnel documents and maintaining personnel working files.
- Typing requisitions for departmental purchases.
- Answering and screening incoming telephone calls and giving information to callers.
- Greeting visitors and providing information as needed.
- Proofreading departmental documents and schedules.
- Maintaining logs of expense receipts and other documents flowing thru department.
- Other duties as assigned.
