Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage assigned construction projects from planning through closeout, ensuring adherence to federal, DOE/NNSA, and site-specific requirements.
- Oversee the execution of vertical and civil construction scopes, including facilities, infrastructure, secure structures, and support systems.
- Review, interpret, and execute construction work packages, ensuring alignment with project schedules, cost objectives, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, design leads, field inspectors, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to coordinate scope and resolve field conflicts.
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, NFPA, and other applicable codes and standards.
- Maintain rigorous control over RFIs, submittals, quality assurance documentation, and change orders.
- Support project controls in development of baseline schedules, earned value tracking, and forecasting.
- Interface with client representatives to ensure project alignment with contract deliverables, milestones, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct daily field walks, safety observations, and formal inspections to ensure construction progress and safety are maintained.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in project delivery, lessons learned, and construction efficiency.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Substitutions: AS 15 years or HS 17 years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's.
- Minimum 1315 years of experience in construction project management.
- Demonstrated experience managing federal, nuclear, or industrial construction projects of significant size and complexity.
- Strong working knowledge of construction work packages and federal construction standards.
- Experience with subcontractor oversight, schedule and budget adherence, and construction quality programs.
- Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams and interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Primavera P6, Procore, or similar project management tools a plus.
- Prior work experience on DOE, NNSA, or other federal agency construction programs.
- Active or recent DOE L or Q clearance within the last two years.
- Experience managing construction in radiological, industrial, or security-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with work package controls, field execution tracking, and baseline integration.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction sequencing documents.
- Background working with SCIFs, mission-critical facilities, or secure infrastructure is highly desired.
