CEIS | Government is seeking an experienced Civil-Focused Field Engineer to support large-scale civil and industrial construction activities at the Savannah River Site. Reporting to the Project Manager or designated project leadership, this role provides hands-on technical and field execution support to ensure construction activities comply with engineering drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong civil construction experience, field coordination skills, and a working knowledge of quality, cost controls, and project documentation within highly regulated environments.

- Provide technical field support to project management and construction teams to ensure work is executed in accordance with design drawings, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate daily with project crews to review production schedules and confirm availability of materials, equipment, labor, and resources to maintain schedule and budget.
- Support quality control activities for civil construction, including rebar installation and concrete placement in accordance with ACI code requirements.
- Support construction of NQA-1 concrete foundations and other safety-significant structures as required.
- Collect, review, and coordinate shop drawings, design specifications, material submittals, and project data throughout execution to ensure quality and compliance.
- Assist with development of technical requirements for work packages, field planning, and construction scheduling.
- Identify construction, material, equipment, or process risks and escalate concerns to project leadership with recommended mitigation actions.
- Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify field conditions and resolve design questions.
- Track project quantities, cost codes, and production data to support accurate financial reporting and cost controls.
- Coordinate with finance and accounting teams regarding labor, materials, equipment usage, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project specifications for quality assurance before, during, and after construction activities.
- Initiate and manage inspections, permits, certificates, and required documentation related to field production.
- Coordinate field layout planning with construction crews and engineering teams, including verification of utility locates prior to excavation.
- Coordinate subcontractor work methods, sequencing, manpower, and schedules as required.
- Support project closeout activities, including reconciliation of punch lists, documentation, and final turnover with the owner and field teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of overall project execution.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 7 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or Project Coordinator on large civil, industrial, power, or process construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Rebar installation and concrete placement quality control
- ACI code requirements
- NQA-1 concrete foundations (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, rebar drawings, specifications, and applicable building standards.
- Experience working in highly regulated or nuclear environments preferred.
- Proficiency with construction-related software such as Maximo, MicroStation, AutoCAD, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic field environment.
- Ability to obtain access to customer-controlled sites.
