CEIS is seeking an experienced Work Control Planner to support facility maintenance, operations, construction, and modification activities within a complex DOE nuclear environment. This position supports multidisciplinary Work Control operations responsible for maintenance planning, scheduling, and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) activities utilizing Integrated Work Management principles to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of work.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience developing and reviewing technical work packages, maintenance planning documentation, labor and material estimates, work instructions, lockout/tagout requirements, safety controls, post-maintenance testing requirements, and work execution packages supporting nuclear, industrial, or high-consequence facilities. Candidates with DOE, DOD, commercial nuclear, oil & gas, or highly regulated industrial experience are strongly desired.

Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain technical work packages supporting maintenance, operations, construction, and modification activities
- Prepare detailed labor, material, tooling, scheduling, and resource estimates for planned work activities
- Develop written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, safety controls, and post-maintenance testing requirements
- Support planning activities associated with mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiological systems and equipment
- Coordinate and resolve work restraints, material issues, scheduling conflicts, and execution barriers
- Utilize Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to develop, track, maintain, and close work planning activities
- Develop, monitor, validate, and analyze work control performance metrics, reports, and statistical data
- Maintain databases and reporting systems supporting maintenance planning and work execution performance
- Conduct audits, evaluations, and assessments of work control processes, procedures, and maintenance programs
- Recommend and implement process improvements related to work control, maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution activities
- Support maintenance policy, procedure, and process development activities
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and training to less experienced work control personnel
- Coordinate with maintenance, operations, engineering, radiological controls, safety, and project personnel to support safe and compliant work execution
- Ensure compliance with DOE requirements, facility procedures, environmental regulations, and safety standards
- Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
- Extensive experience in work control planning, maintenance planning, or maintenance execution within nuclear, industrial, DOE, DOD, commercial nuclear, oil & gas, or high-consequence environments
- Strong experience developing technical work packages and written work instructions for maintenance or operational activities
- Extensive knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, work hazards, integrated work management, and safe work execution practices
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Experience supporting maintenance planning activities involving mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological systems
- Strong knowledge of work control processes, materials management, scheduling, and maintenance operations
- Experience utilizing Maximo or similar CMMS / maintenance management systems required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical information effectively
- Ability to conduct research, analyze problems, and develop practical work planning solutions
- Experience mentoring and training junior personnel preferred
- Active planning experience within nuclear facilities highly desired
- PPH certification preferred
- Active DOE Q Clearance preferred or ability to obtain and maintain one required
- Ability to climb fixed ladders
- Must work onsite in Los Alamos, NM
- DOE, DOD, commercial nuclear, or highly regulated industrial maintenance planning experience
- Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills with ability to integrate effectively into existing work control teams
- Experience supporting maintenance planning in radiological or nuclear facilities
- Experience writing technical maintenance documentation and work execution procedures
- Knowledge of Laboratory work control processes, maintenance policies, and integrated work management principles preferred
