ICC Structural | Concrete Inspector

CEIS | Clover Leaf Solutions is seeking a qualified Structural and Concrete Inspector to join our growing team supporting complex infrastructure and vertical construction projects at a DOE facility in Los Alamos, NM. The ideal candidate will have expertise in structural systems, reinforced concrete construction, and field inspection practices to ensure quality and code compliance across all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspection of structural elements including reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and anchorage systems to ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (IBC, ACI, AWS, etc.).
• Observe formwork, rebar placement, concrete placement, curing practices, and embedded components for structural concrete pours.
• Conduct verification of anchor bolt installations, welding, bolted connections, and steel erection sequences per approved submittals and specifications.
• Review and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and structural specifications for field validation.
• Perform ACI-certified concrete testing, including sampling, slump, air content, and test cylinder casting.
• Coordinate with project teams to schedule inspections and support construction progress with real-time documentation and reporting.
• Interface with contractors, engineers, and LANL representatives to clarify issues and track resolution of non-conformances.
• Document inspection findings in detailed reports, photographs, and field logs using electronic data systems.
• Ensure construction practices align with LANL QA standards, DOE regulations, and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.
• Support structural testing and special inspections per IBC Chapter 17 and project-specific quality assurance plans.
• Participate in pre-pour meetings, QA audits, and punch list inspections.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification required; additional ICC certifications (Structural Steel & Welding, Bolting, Masonry) preferred.
• ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I certification required.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training required or willingness to obtain.
• Minimum 35 years of experience inspecting structural systems and reinforced concrete on large-scale construction projects.
• Working knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AWS, and structural code requirements.
• Experience with federal, military, or DOE/NNSA construction projects preferred.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting structural drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate and timely documentation.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DOE Clearance.
