Part-Time Infant-Toddler Classroom Aide (Palmer Center Early Head Start) – To assist the teacher
and cooperate in a supportive role, providing and carrying out developmentally appropriate activities and
care. To promote the health, nutrition, and education of the children enrolled in our Early Head Start
programs and to attend to their safety and welfare.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Pass a Criminal Background Check that Meets Required State & Federal Laws
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Location: Palmer Center
Supervisor: Center Coordinator
Schedule: Part-Time (25 hrs/wk), Full-Year (48 weeks/year)
Salary: $17.27 – $23.03 per hour DOE and education. Plus benefits: Professional
development opportunities, paid personal and sick leave, holidays, and retirement plan with
matching contribution. We also assist you in obtaining your Child Development Associate (CDA)
credential. $1,500 sign-on bonus, see website for details (valid through 12/31/2025).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
- Infant-Toddler CDA Credential (or equivalent) - preferred upon hire – required after two years (ITCA I)
- Current Infant-Toddler CDA Credential (or equivalent) – required (ITCA II)
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Education Practices – generally gained through one year of experience
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Pass a Criminal Background Check that Meets Required State & Federal Laws
- Maintain Current CPR/First Aid Certification through an Approved Trainer
- Keep State of Alaska Food Handlers Certificate Current
- Participate in Required Annual Trainings
- Complete Annual Self Prepared History Form
- Able to Lift and Carry up to 50 Pounds
- Capable of Getting Up and Down from the Floor with Ease
- Can Stand and/or Sit for Extended Periods of Time Interchangeably, with the Ability to Regularly
- Occasionally work 8 hour days to attend agency required training
