Position Summary
The Excavation Laborer supports excavation and site work operations by performing hands-on labor in outdoor environments. This role is ideal for someone with experience in excavation, construction, or landscaping who is comfortable working with tools, measurements, and physical tasks. The position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in varying weather conditions year-round.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist excavation crews with digging, trenching, grading, and site preparation.
- Perform manual labor using shovels, hand tools, and basic equipment.
- Measure and verify depths, distances, and grades using a tape measure and level.
- Assist with material handling, loading/unloading, and job site cleanup.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
- Work effectively in dirt, uneven terrain, and outdoor conditions.
- Follow directions from supervisors and work collaboratively with crew members.
- Assist with snow removal during winter months, including shoveling and site clearing.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in excavation, construction, landscaping, or related field preferred.
- Comfortable using a tape measure and level.
- Ability to perform physical labor including digging, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely around equipment and coworkers.
- Basic understanding of job site safety practices is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up 50–75 lbs.
- Ability to shovel, dig, and perform repetitive manual tasks.
- Ability to work on uneven surfaces and in all seasonal weather conditions.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
