What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer position at Engineering Support Personnel, Inc?
Position Summary:
Performs Laborer tasks on the Fire Fighting and Damage Control training devices and support gear that requires mainly physical abilities and effort.
· Reports to the Shift Supervisor.
Experience:
· Minimum of two (2) years of experience demonstrating competence through satisfactory progressive performance as a Laborer.
Education:
· High School Graduate or GED.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Performs Laborer duties on the 19F3A Advanced Fire Fighting Damage Control Wet Trainer or their equivalents.
· Loads and unloads trucks, and other conveyances, moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck; stacks materials for storage or binning, collects refuse and salvageable materials, and digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations.
· Levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake, shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches, cuts trees and brush; operates power lawnmowers, moves and arranges heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliance, moves heavy pieces of automotive, medical engineering, and other types of machinery and equipment, spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways, and picks up leaves and trash.
· Performs painting, corrosion control, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
· Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, replacing, water coolers, and painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
· Fills CO2 and SCBA bottles as needed.
· Stage and maintain TSG
· Launder and Dry Fire Fighting Turnouts and additional clothing
· Document all maintenance actions.
· Assist in Daily Operational Readiness Test (DORT).
· Janitorial Duties
· Additional duties as assigned.
