Job Description:
Cavossa Disposal Corporation is seeking a motivated Apprentice Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone eager to learn the heavy truck and equipment trade while working under the guidance of experienced mechanics and the Fleet Manager. The Apprentice Mechanic will assist with inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance while developing hands-on mechanical skills in a fast-paced, outdoor work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior mechanics with preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and equipment
- Perform basic inspections, maintenance tasks, and shop support duties
- Learn proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures
- Follow work assignments and scheduled tasks as directed by the Fleet Manager
- Communicate progress, questions, and challenges to supervisors
- Complete assigned documentation, including Parts Request Forms and End-of-Day Reports as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions when necessary
- Adhere to company standards, safety policies, and procedures at all times
Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- Strong willingness to learn and develop mechanical skills
- Positive attitude with good work ethic and aptitude
- Reliable attendance is required
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- 6 months of mechanic experience and/or vocational/technical education in a related field is a plus
- Valid driver's license preferred

- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
