Job Description
The Dispatcher coordinates daily routes and driver activity while providing excellent customer service. This role ensures efficient operations, accurate documentation, and clear communication with customers, drivers, and internal teams in a fast-paced environment. The Dispatcher is a hands-on, execution-focused role.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch and support assigned drivers to ensure safe, timely, and efficient service.
- Create and adjust routes to optimize productivity and coverage.
- Monitor vehicles using GPS and dispatch software and troubleshoot issues in real time.
- Respond to operational challenges such as schedule changes, equipment issues, weather, or service delays.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer calls and service requests.
- Communicate service updates, delays, and scheduling changes clearly to customers.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation including weight tickets, job completion, and billing readiness.
- Audit discrepancies and verify service charges.
- Communicate consistently with drivers and internal departments including Maintenance and Operations.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Dispatch, logistics, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong multitasking, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using routing, GPS, and digital systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and accountability.
- Familiarity with the Cape Cod / Southeastern MA area preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 42.5 per week
