Key Responsibilities
- Operate E-Cranes, loaders, hold loaders, and trimmers to assist with loading, unloading, and moving cargo and heavy materials at port facilities and job sites.
- Travel to multiple job sites as required.
- Conduct pre- and post-operational inspections of cranes, loaders, hold loaders, trimmers; report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Assist with rigging, signaling, and lift coordination under the direction of senior crane operators or supervisors.
- Assist in securing and organizing cargo on trailers, docks, or storage areas.
- Work closely with crane operators, riggers, signal persons, dock crews, and supervisors to complete lifting and material handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations and ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily equipment logs, inspection reports, and time records.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members during lifting operations and material handling tasks regarding operational status, delays, or safety concerns.
- Assist in crane setup, relocation, and maintenance as needed.
- Support general port operations, including operating other heavy equipment and labor as assigned when crane operations are not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid Driver's License
- 1 years of experience operating hydraulic cranes or similar heavy equipment in port, construction, or industrial environments.
- 2-3 years of experience operating material handler in port environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of crane operation principles, load charts, and signaling.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Experience in marine terminal or waterfront operations.
- Familiarity with bulk material handling and vessel loading/offloading procedures.
- Must be able to sit and operate crane controls for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and around heavy equipment.
- PPE required at all times, including hard hat, gloves, safety vest, and steel-toe boots.
- Field-based role primarily at marine terminals and job sites.
- Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and heavy machinery.
- Dynamic, safety-critical environment requiring focus and clear communication.
- Must be available for flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime, based on vessel schedules.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Employment in this role may be contingent upon the successful completion of certain pre-employment requirements, which could include a background check, drug screen, or driving record review, depending on the position
