Primary Purpose:
Assist in translating of instruction, preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements under the supervision of a speech language pathologist
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
1. High School Diploma
2. Paraprofessional Certification for Educational Aide or eligible for certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
1. Ability to work well with students
2. Knowledge of general office equipment
3. Demonstrated proficiency in oral communication in English and Spanish
PreferredExperience:
Previous successful experience working with children
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1.Assist in producing therapy material and activities
2.Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises
assigned by the speech language pathologist.
Student Management
3.Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside of the schools.
4.Assist in the maintenance of the personal hygiene of students.
5.Assist in lifting and positioning students as directed by the teacher.
6.Perform or assist with self-help skills for students such as toileting, feeding,

9.Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom
10.Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed.
