- Experience in a library environment with automated information storage and retrieval preferred.
- Advanced skills working with computer software programs, word processing, spreadsheet, webpages, and web browsers, and relational database applications
- Ability to prepare and conduct training for current technological applications dealing with library applications
- Any alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
- Basic understanding of library record structure preferred.
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and SAAS issues and coming up with out-of-the-box solutions.
- Experience in extrapolating data via various formats to create usable reports.
- Oversee daily functions of the library management database across the network
- Assist in the maintenance of the computer technology database including software updates and communicating changes to all stakeholders.
- Work with network managers to maintain the database across the network
- Develop new item types, locations, and circulation behaviors
- Assist with import of student data into library automation program from student database
- Maintain the eLibrary interface for elementary and secondary schools
- Upload MARC records to book vendors to use with library analysis software for each librarian
- Provide daily helpdesk function for the database to campuses (library media specialists, support staff, teachers, etc.)
- Provide remote and onsite training for new staff on the library management system
- Communicate enhancements to the staff through staff development as needed
- Act as a liaison to Library software program corporation and other related vendors
- Maintain library website
- Provide training and support for library resource web portal and library webpages
- Provide technical support backup for classrooms in the technology and learning center
- Provide customized library circulation rules as needed by each campus
- Provide training and support for library inventories and reconciliation of discrepancies
- Build customized report templates for each librarian
- Provide statistical reports for library circulation, collection age, online resource usage and other data as required and in a timely manner.
