TITLE: Assistant Executive Housekeeper-Holiday Inn Express
HOURS: Flexible (must be available to work weekends and holidays)

REPORTING TO: Executive Housekeeper
SUMMARY:
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day operations
of Housekeeping under the supervision of the Executive Housekeeper.
DUTIES:
1.
Assists in the recruitment, selection, orientation, and training of housekeepers including coaching
and counseling employees on work processes and performance.
Facilitates operations by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering
resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving guest concerns, maintaining IHG
training manuals/video’s, and ensuring guest needs are met. Monitors staff's attendance
ensuring adequate staffing levels are met necessary to complete all daily cleaning activities.
Schedules alternative coverage when needed. Records data on work assignments, personnel
actions, and times cards. Prepares periodic reports as needed in Excel and/or Opera.
Organizes daily (morning) meetings preparing and distributing room assignment schedules and
floor keys.
Ensures adequate supplies and controls costs on all cleaning supplies and linen stock. Submits
requests for repair and periodical maintenance on cleaning equipment. Tracks and monitor
inventory control. Controls all expenditures relating to Housekeeping including labor, guest room
and cleaning supplies as well as equipment.
Enforces IHG’s quality standards on guest rooms, uniforms, lost and found, as well all public areas.
Ensures lost and found procedures are followed by all Housekeepers. Inspects guest rooms,
common areas, to ensure compliance with IHG standards.
Advises appropriate personnel of any vandalism to guest rooms, and notifies Front Desk regarding
the readiness of guest rooms for occupancy.
Addresses guest complaints on housekeeping concerns.
Schedules the cleaning of lobby areas, public restrooms, hallways, entrances, elevators and other
common area.
Assumes front line cleaning responsibilities covering inadequate staffing, emergencies, leaves of
absence, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 2 years housekeeping experience in a supervisory capacity.
Two years line level experience in all aspects of the Housekeeping department.
High school Graduate or GED equivalent.
Knowledge of Opera and IHG standards preferred
Skilled in Microsoft applications including work and excel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position requires lifting and moving furniture as well as turning mattresses when covering shifts for
subordinate personnel. When inspecting completed work or work in progress long periods of walking
and standing is required. Cleaning responsibilities include frequent bending and twisting as well as
stooping and kneeling. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE:
1. Ensures that all work/cleaning schedules are followed meeting actual and projected guest
occupancy levels.
2. Assigns team member their duties in terms of occupancy requirements, and ensures guest
expectations are met consistent with IHG cleanliness standards.
3. Ensures all housekeepers meet the 15 to 17 room quota daily.
4. Inventory levels are recorded accurately with the necessary stocking level meeting productivity
levels.
5. All reports are completed on-time, accurately and efficiently. Develops a level of expertise in
Opera.
6. Maintains clear and efficient communications and coordination with the Front Office on room
availability.
7. Identifies and schedules periodic major cleaning projects in accordance with the hotel needs
and IHG standards and preventive maintenance programs.
8. Immediately investigates guest concerns regarding housekeeping service and takes remedial
action as necessary.
9. Ensures all meeting room functions are properly setup according to specifications indicated on
the meeting room/event function sheets.
10. Ensures all housekeepers complete IHG training programs and carry out their duties always in
accordance with performance standards.
