Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive floor cleaning using appropriate equipment and techniques, including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance.
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemical products safely, following all safety protocols related to chemical agent handling and environmental services.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, waxers, carpet cleaners, and floor polishers efficiently to achieve optimal results.
- Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of cleaning supplies, equipment, or furniture to ensure thorough cleaning coverage.
- Maintain cleanliness of all flooring surfaces across the facility’s common areas, hallways, resident rooms, and other designated spaces.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by properly storing cleaning chemicals and using personal protective equipment during all tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to requests for cleaning assistance while maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or healthcare environments with a focus on floor care.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning chemicals, floor buffing, waxing, refinishing techniques, and carpet cleaning methods.
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Prior experience with environmental services or custodial duties preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
