About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to lead our NJCAA Men's Wrestling Program as the Head Men's Wrestling Coach. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing young athletes and contributing to the growth of wrestling at Carl Albert State College.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the program, including recruiting, scheduling, budgeting, fundraising, practice, match days, camps, and campus gym rentals.
- Maintain high standards of academic and athletic performance, ensuring student-athletes meet NCAA eligibility requirements and excel in the classroom.
- Collaborate with Enrollment Management to provide team academic advising sessions and orientation.
- Promote the program through community outreach, media relations, and alumni engagement.
- Represent the college at regional and state organizations, such as the Oklahoma coaches Association and NJCCA Region II.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP for Student Affairs/Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Minimum 5 years coaching experience at HS, NJCAA, NAIA, or NCAA College level preferred with significant individual and team accomplishments.
- Current AED, CPR, and First Aid Certification (or willing to acquire within first month of employment)
- Ability to coach the sport while showing concern for the athlete's education.
- Clean driving record, CDL preferred but not required.
