Role Overview
- The Recovery Support Specialist serves as the main point of clinical contact for all Carisk HeadsUp Healthcare (HUHC) Behavioral Health Program referrals. Key attributes of the seasoned mental health professional in this position include: the ability to meaningfully engage with emotionally and often physically injured patients, especially vulnerable following a workplace accident; clinical acumen, with the skill to quickly and accurately discern mental health conditions and acuity levels via patient and provider dialog as well as clinical documentation review; exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to respond timely, accurately, and with the appropriate deference afforded to high-visibility customers of both Carisk and HeadsUp Healthcare; ability to collaborate with multiple Team Members across various departments.
- Process incoming behavioral health referrals
- Conduct medical records reviews
- Provide sourcing guidance on behavioral health providers
- Facilitate Biopsychosocial Assessments
- Create clinical work products specific to the Program
- Conduct detailed clinical reviews of provider documentation
- Maintain consistent communication with patients
- Maintain consistent communication with HUHC Intake and Staffer team members
- Maintain consistent communication with Carisk Recovery Support Assistant
- Maintain consistent communication with treating providers, as indicated
- Engage in internal and external meetings related to Behavioral Health Program
- Other duties as required
- Master’s degree in helping profession
- Active state licensure in mental health field (LMFT, LCSW, LMHC)
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a clinical setting
- Able to expedite meaningful rapport building with patients
- Knowledge of substance use/substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and physical health in recovery services
- Motivational interviewing skills along with robust human relation skills
- Stellar communication skills are expected
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to multitask and prioritize efficiently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
