Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, including RFI/RFP/RFQ development and execution.
- Analyze supplier proposals in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Drive commercial negotiations to optimize cost, service quality, and risk mitigation outcomes.
- Own the supply agreement and contracting process, leveraging Sourcing and Contract Analyst support as needed.
- Apply advanced sourcing methodologies including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ROI analysis, make/buy assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Identify and evaluate alternative or backup suppliers using industry-standard practices.
- Lead or support supplier visits (onsite and virtual) and supplier business reviews.
- Serve as the primary sourcing contact for Business Owners in unmanaged categories.
- Communicate initiative updates and sourcing progress clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
- Develop and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships across Procurement, Finance, Operations, IT, and Legal.
- Educate internal teams on sourcing standards, supplier expectations, and procurement processes.
- Present sourcing strategies, cost analyses, and negotiation outcomes to multi-level audiences.
- Mine spend and supplier data to generate actionable sourcing insights.
- Drive aggressive savings initiatives aligned to procurement targets and continuously manage the savings pipeline.
- Document and communicate savings achievements and engage business owners in process improvements.
- Support supplier due diligence and ensure appropriate risk mitigation measures are incorporated into agreements.
- Collaborate in category implementation through market intelligence, data analysis, and supplier negotiations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, finance, IT, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating with supplier leadership and managing enterprise-level contracts.
- Strong understanding of contractual terms, conditions, and risk mitigation principles.
- Proven experience leading sourcing processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ).
- Advanced analytical skills with experience in spend analysis and sourcing modeling techniques.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential job duties with or without accommodation.
- Experience sourcing Professional Services categories.
- 2 years of experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- 3 years of hands-on sourcing process execution.
- Experience within regulated environments (21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and/or cGMP).
- Familiarity with supplier risk frameworks and compliance standards.
- Hybrid role based in Madison, WI.
- Ability to work on a computer approximately 90% of the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally (approximately 5% of workday)
- Up to 10% travel may be required, including occasional overnight or weekend travel.
