This position serves a K-7 student population and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic, social, emotional, and career development.

Position Details

• Position: School Counselor
• Location: Near Sierra Vista, AZ
• Student Population: K-7
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: May 28, 2027
• Schedule: 37.5 Hours per Week
• Pay Rate: $28-$35 per Hour

Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona School Counselor License
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Previous school-based experience preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities

Student Support & Counseling

• Provide individual and group counseling services addressing academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs.
• Support students experiencing challenges such as anxiety, grief, conflict, or crisis situations.
• Help students develop self-advocacy, coping, and decision-making skills.

Academic Development

• Assist students with goal setting, study skills, time management, and academic planning.
• Monitor student progress and collaborate with educational staff to implement interventions.
• Support attendance, engagement, and overall student achievement initiatives.

Career & College Readiness

• Facilitate career exploration and interest assessments.
• Provide age-appropriate guidance related to future educational and career pathways.
• Support workforce readiness and long-term goal development.

Collaboration & Consultation

• Partner with teachers, administrators, psychologists, social workers, and support staff to help meet student needs.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student support plans.
• Participate in MTSS and student support team meetings.

School Climate & Prevention Programs

• Implement social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives.
• Support bullying prevention, mental health awareness, and positive behavior programs.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Crisis Response & Compliance

• Provide support during student crises and behavioral incidents.
• Assist with safety planning, referrals, and intervention strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and professional standards.
